‎Inspiron 7373 2-in-1, awakening from sleep mode not working | DELL Technologies

Wake on Touch - Windows IoT | Microsoft Learn

cmd prompt med admin

reg add HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power /v PlatformAoAcOverride /t REG_DWORD /d 0

Hi,

I've persisted with this issue for 2 years, finally I think I've gotten it under control.  I used the registry key found here under the heading 'Disabling Modern Standby':

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/iot-core/learn-about-hardware/wakeontouch#disabling-modern-standby

From what I can gather, this stems from the 7373 system not supporting Modern Standby (S0), but an update to Win10 and all Win11 installs seems to defaut to looking for this mode, when it isn't available it seems to cause the system to hang at sleep.

You can confirm this by running cmdprompt as admin, and running powercfg /a to confirm which sleep states are available on your system. (side note, if anyone is running a 7373 and has sleep states other than S3, Hibernate and Hybrid, I'd be interested to hear about it - particularly which BIOS version you're on).

Run the registry key, close cmdprompt, and reboot.

Then go start menu>edit power plan>click back to power options> choose what the power buttons do>change settings that are currently unavailable>make sure 'turn on fast startup' is unchecked.

Save, and then change your sleep timer to 1 minute to test functionality.  Seems to have resolved it for me.  Only thing I don't seem to have is the ability to wake the system using the built in keyboard, I will check over the next few days as to the usb keyboard functionality via my dock.
